چکیده
Abstract INTRODUCTION Surgical approach to peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheters is the main step in achieving successful PD therapy. It important conduct a simple and safe procedure, with adequate visualization of path location catheter, avoid discontinuation PD. The tunneled laparoscopic catheter (TLPDC) reliable surgical alternative patients who are candidates for MATERIAL AND METHODS This retrospective descriptive study that includes all whom TLPDC was placed from October 2019 January 2021. objective know rate functioning evaluate complications derived procedure. RESULTS 7 mean age 51.4 (7.7) years BMI 26.6 (8.0) kg/m2. Rescue therapy considered 6 (85.7%) patients, after removal previous catheter. There no case (0.0%) displacement, being 85.7%. One (14.3%) bacterial peritonitis diagnosed, resolved conservative management, early dysfunction another case, requiring revision on eleventh postoperative day its repositioning, current suspicion encapsulating peritonitis. CONCLUSIONS technique, avoiding displacement and, thus, higher success rate. However, as counterpoint, it requires general anesthesia be performed. Furthermore, an selection suitable candidate necessary ensure

متن کاملLaparoscopic Placement of Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter (Same Day Dialysis)
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Peritoneal dialysis (PD) remains the generally accepted method for management of renal failure in chronic and acute renal failure. Despite the rapidly increasing use of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) since its introduction, controversy persists as to the efficacy and exact role of the modality in the treatment of end stage renal failure. The aim of thi...

Background. This review describes the peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter implantation techniques for the treatment of PD. The PD catheter-related complications still cause significant morbidity and mortality, resulting in the necessity to switch to haemodialysis (HD) treatment. Methods. Several catheter insertion techniques, using an open surgical approach, laparoscopic and percutaneous techniqu...
متن کاملLaparoscopic versus Open Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Insertion: A Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND Peritoneal dialysis is an effective treatment for end-stage renal disease. Key to successful peritoneal dialysis is a well-functioning catheter. The different insertion techniques may be of great importance. Mostly, the standard operative approach is the open technique; however, laparoscopic insertion is increasingly popular. Catheter malfunction is reported up to 35% for the open te...
متن کاملDeveloping a Device for Automated Peritoneal Dialysis
Background: Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an efficient alternative for hemodialysis. Removal of waste metabolites and excess water from the blood circulation are the two main tasks done during dialysis. These are done by using a filter; in PD, the naturally semi-permeable peritoneal membrane acts as the filter. Automated PD machines control intelligently the operations to enhance the efficiency a...
